THOMAS D. HIRD

Partner

After exploring the fields of science, teaching, and banking as a young man, Tom found his niche at the University of Oklahoma College of Law, where he served on the Oklahoma Law Review and graduated in 1990. Tom then put his law-review experience to good use by serving as a judicial law clerk. For the next six years he assisted a dozen different judges at four different federal courts across the country, including two of the three federal district courts here in Oklahoma. This all served to give Tom an uncommon knowledge of how judges think and what they want in written submissions to the court.

Tom puts this knowledge to work for the clients of Richards & Connor. He focuses on research and writing at both the trial and appellate level, having written for small claims court, the United States Supreme Court, and everything in-between. Tom also sits on the board of directors of the Oklahoma Association of Defense Counsel, where, for the last five years, he has also served as its Amicus Curiae Chair. In that capacity he has written appellate amicus briefs on a variety of topics. He is a member of both the Oklahoma and California bars, and serves on the Appellate Practice Section of the Oklahoma bar.

Tom is married and has one daughter.
